Translocation (also known as "dimension jumping" or "D-jumping") is the rare metafunction of teleportation manifested by a practitioner engaging in metapsychic faster-than-light (FTL) travel with similar operational constraints to those used by FTL vessels. The only known demonstrations of this ability in the Galactic Milieu era were the practiced version by Marc Remillard and the instinctual response by Felice Landry. Marc Remillard was able to do it multiple times and reliably, but Felice only did it once. Marc was also able to eventually bring passengers with him (at least one) and managed to extend the distance beyond terrestrial bounds.

The "Ship" creatures of the Duat galaxy developed a reliable metapsychic practice of this advanced function long before it was known in the Milieu.
